At UN Open Source Week 2026, Dr. Indra highlighted the role of open source in advancing productivity and digital transformation
APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata spoke as a panelist in the session “Strategic Independence across Layers of Governance” during UN Open Source Week 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The discussion explored how open source can support digital capacity, public sector innovation, and strategic autonomy across different levels of governance.
Dr. Indra shared the APO’s perspective on how open source can strengthen productivity, digital transformation, and institutional capacity across its member economies. He highlighted its role as both a technical and governance tool and emphasized the importance of collaboration and cross-cultural knowledge sharing in advancing digital public infrastructure.
The session featured a keynote by Veronica Gaffey of the European Commission and brought together speakers from the ADB, the Eclipse Foundation, the Linux Foundation, and the Open Invention Network.
